The Flip Mino Unboxing
August 13th, 2008 · Video
This is the box of my brand new Flip Mino, very “Appleish” in design if you ask me!
That is me unboxing my brand new Flip Mino!
Now, what is the Flip Mino? It is the brand new pocket sized camcorder from FLIP!
It records 60 minutes of 640×480 at 30fps. As you can see some of the footage in the video, it is not bad at all considering how small this thing is! It is 3.94″ x 1.97″ x 0.63″ AKA Small!
It has 2GB and has supposedly up to 4 hours of battery life, now I am not going to lie, it is pretty cool.
Well, I got it from walmart.com so I got this little tripod with it:
Lets just say I am going to shoot more video than I can handle, but dont worry, that is a good thing.
P.S. Check out the new Viddler branding….BYE BYE Youtube!

Flickr vs. Photobucket
August 11th, 2008 · Picture
In my last post, I had to use a hosting service to host the images. It was between Flickr or Photobucket. When I was looking at them they both had the same use (photo hosting), but I realized that they were two totally diferent sites or programs. Let me break it down.
Flickr is for sharing, its like facebook but only for photos.
Photobucket it is to host images…that is it.
That does not make a lot of sense, so let me show you what I mean.
Scenario #1
You are creating a website and have images in it, you need to host the images somewhere in order to display them, now I realize that you could just host them on your site, but if you cant, you would turn to Photobucket to host them for your site.
Or you are on a forum and need to post an image but you dont really want all your friends etc to see it, just the fourm, you host it with Photobucket.
Scenario #2
You are blogging or you want a lot of friends to see a picture and comment about it and really have a discussion about it. Now you could turn to facebook for your friends, but what about your “audience,” that is where you turn to flickr, to show your friends.
See, there are two totally different reasons for the two sites, but they serve two totally diferent purposes.
Photobucket is for hosting images.
Flickr is for sharing images.
See, so when you want to share head over to flickr.
and vice versa.
P.S. I wanted to do a whole cool flickr vs photobucket image, but I think that might be against the copyright.

Jump Jump
August 11th, 2008 · Picture
I personally like to take pictures on my down time. So, I saw my brother jumping this table today and we sort of started a photo shoot. I have a Nikon d50 so I can get some shots. I probably made him jump the table about 15 times.
I took about 70 pictures from many different angles and when I look at this one I just thought Nike Commercial! Hmm Hmm Nike I got something for you
This one is just incredible the kid can jump, that is over a table!!!
And the one time he sort of landed on the table! Just look at that face!

Ordered a Flip Mino $139.99
August 10th, 2008 · Blog 4 Ramen, Video
Ordered my Flip Mino today which is really exciting (hint it will fuel this blog) this little gadget is the third gen for the flip family waying in at $180 but I have a secret!
I got this for a STEAL at $149.99 from walmart.com PLUS it comes with either a USB extension, Flip Case, or a Flip Tripod AND a $10 walmart.com gift certificate! You can not beat this price.
The Flip Mino is a pocket camcorder with a built in battery, has a maximum of 60 mnute video, 2GB storage, and according to flip up to 4 hrs of battery.
If you want a video camera, this may not be the best quality, but it will be the camcorder that you use the most.
I will do a full review of it, because I am sure I will love it.
This is the iPod of video cameras no lie!
If you want it for the cheapest price, I can find, and I dont think you can beat it go to walmart.com (it is not available in Wal Mart stores)
Lets review flip store sells it for $179.99, Best Buy and Circuit City sell it for $159.99 and walmart.com sells it for $149.99 plus either 3 usb extenders, a Flip tripod, or a flip case (each worth about $15) AND a walmart.com $10 gift certificate. So the caemra is actually only $125 what a steal!
I got the tripod, because you do not need the USB extenders, the USB flips out of the camera, and it comes with a soft case.
Please note the tripod is a flexible leg tripod for like your wrist or the table.
Flip Mino comes in either black or white.
I really can not wait to get this thing in the mail and I hope I get it by next friday for my trip to Atlantis, Bahamas.
The Flip is the iPod of camcorders, maybe not the best, but the most convenient.
UPDATE: Just looked at Amazon and they have just the Flip Mino no accessories for $139.99 I guess you are still getting more bang for your buck at walmart.com but if you want the cheapest amazon is it!
